La orquídea - Hand Dyed Wool of the Andes custom blend 100g
Orchids are so beautiful and there are so many species, some 28,000 no less! and 25,000 of them are from South America. I have no idea to what they all are but I’m partial to the pink and purple ones 😉
The fibre base is my custom blend called Hermosa (beautiful in Spanish)
Fibre Content:
75% Peruvian Highland Wool
25% Baby Alpaca
Each braid is 100g
Colourway: La orquídea
Peruvian Highland Wool is a cross breed of Corriedale and Merino, it is of medium grade, has a dry and crisp handle, and it is naturally durable. This is a beginner spinner friendly fibre, it spins easily and has a nice grip.
Baby Alpaca is very fine and it adds a little silkiness to the blend and also increase the insulation.
This wool will felt.
Care: hand wash only in cold or lukewarm water, dry flat

*All care have been taken during the dyeing process, however some residual dye may still remain but should wash out after one or two washes. As with all hand dyed items colour variations between batches or even within the same batch are normal.
